About Us

Kay Emm was established in 2022 by Daniella Powell. The company name comes from her two children. The organization is one that is dedicated to changing the employee experience. Kay Emm's philosophy is that a company's success starts with the employee experience, our job is to assist organizations to improve that experience.

Daniella Powell is SHRM Certified HR Professional with more than 10 years of

experience in HR, with a specialty in HR strategy. She is a Navy Veteran who served 7 years as a Yeoman First Class Petty Officer from 2012 to 2019. During her time served in the military she was stationed in Sasebo Japan, Detroit Michigan, and Jacksonville Florida.

 

While serving in the military, Daniella realized her passion was helping service members with career decisions and overall job satisfaction. She decided to dedicate her career and focus on employee experience and began working on a degree in Human Resources. In 2020, Daniella completed her Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Human Resources.

Daniella founded Kay Emm Consulting in 2022. The companies mission is to provide companies with the tools and strategies to be able to foster an inclusive culture, prioritize diversity and inclusion, and hire and retain diverse talent! Daniella’s passion is helping small companies develop their infrastructure, and partner with leadership to scale their teams, craft policy, and process, comply with state and federal regulations, develop internal procedures, mitigate people risk, advise on benefits and compensation, support their recruiting needs, and train their leadership teams.

Daniella is a mom to two and proud Navy Spouse. She currently lives in Virginia with her family. She is a graduate student at Excelsior University pursuing a Master's of HR Management. She is a member of SHRM, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, and the Chesapeake Public School DEI Board.
